It’s always exciting to get new products to try out, for those days that I don’t feel like DIY-ing. I was especially excited to connect with the ladies of True Curls, Kedi and Keke, who are based in South Africa because I knew that their products would be tailor-made for our sort of climate. Though I’m aware that South Africa is not as dry as Botswana. Well I was given a sample pack to try out and give feedback and here are my thoughts.
- The packaging is really pretty. I know it’s may not mean much to some people but I like clean and consistent packaging, gives me more confidence about the product for some reason 🙂
2. The package comes with clear instructions on how to get the best out of the products, and I thought this is really smart, because it gives one a good starting point. I’m pretty sure I’ve thrown out some products before because of incorrect use 🙂
a) Daily Spritz – every naturalista knows that a spritz can be one’s hair lifeline and it is an essential part of the hair care routine. Because of the Botswana’s dry climate, I normally avoid humectants like glycerine as they dry my hair out. But after a conversation with one of my friends I figured out that using the spritz at night, then covering with a shower cap, then bonnet gave me really good results the following morning. Soft and manageable hair.
b) Intense Moisture Cream – My favourite product of the pack, the creamy and fluffly texture of the cream is to die for, and a little goes a long way.
c) Curl Defining pudding – I used this once because I haven’t been doing too many twists and twistouts the last few months. But the one time I used it, my hair was left feeling soft and moisturized too!
I was overall impressed with the products and would even use them on my kids because of the natural and safe ingredients. Go to www.truecurls.co.za for more information and to make a purchase.
